Getting to the Pointe

So, I was trying to convince my Mom and little sister, Emily, to visit and read my blog, but they said that it was too wordy and nerdy for them (my mom said wordy, my sister called it nerdy) (so cool how that rhymes!!). For my mom, I will keep this post short, even though I seriously doubt she will read it. As for it being nerdy... well, I am a nerd, so pretty much anything I do will have that taint to it. As for other bloggers, I cannot say. (Which leads me to say a BIG thank you who actually do read it! Without an audience or reader, a performer or writer is nothing more than a crazy person talking to themselves)

I do have some very exciting news to share: I bought my pointe shoes today! To anyone who doesn't know what pointe shoes are, they are the instruments of torture that are pictured above that ballerinas make look easy and beautiful. I watched Emily learn to dance in them last year and now my dance teacher says I am strong enough to give it a shot. I will die; like I said, they are torture devices and I don't handly pain, but that won't be entirely bad in the end if I survive. If I don't die, I will no doubt suck, but I am very excited to take my dancing to this next level and it will be fun all the same!

More to come later this week.

Sing as if no one is listening.
Work as if you don't need the money.
Love as if you've never been hurt.
Dance as if no one is watching.

Comments:
You don't handly pain, eh? :D

Just show your Mom my blog and she'll be reading yours in no time to save herself from the unhealthy wordiness contained in the code of my posts. :) That should do the trick if nothing else will. ;)

As for Em? Well... I think you're stuck there for the time being. Mine is certainly no less nerdy than yours (FAR more so, I think we can both agree!), but I think if Mandy were to start a blog, Em would certainly read it as Mandy's nerdiness seems to be just the tiniest bit more restrained than ours. ;)

As for the pointe shoes, congratulations! I hope they don't kill you too fast! I would miss you so very much, you know. ;) I'm sure you'll do just fine if you work hard at it and continue to enjoy dancing as much as I know you do!

God bless, Sweetheart!

Ok, here I am, and I finally read your Blog! It was very good! And it is only as torturous as you make it! I know you will be fine! Although you will have something real to fuss about! I am looking forward to hearing what your sister has to say! :)

I love you,
Mom :)

When I sing as if no one is listening, the people listening start screaming. :)

Carla, Honey, this is me, MY, and I have read your blog. I tried reading your first one, but I already knew it, see, because I am special enough to you to have you TELL me!
I am very excited for you to be on pointe with me this year. It will be a great way for me and you to keep our minds off of stupid school, and my mind off of stupid boys! :P (your boy isn't stupid...just yet :))
Okay, I don't know if that was the right way to type for these types of things, but I guess I'll go, since you just left my side! :'( haha Kidding!
Love you more than ever!
Emily

Pointe Shoes are SHEER torture, I've done ballet for over 10 years now and I have to tell you it doesn't get easier with those things. Good luck and make sure you like foot baths becuase your toes will be bruised and EXTREMELY SORE!!! Good luck ballet is amazing but hard!!
